Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Wednesday, 3 September 2014

Makeup tools are always an investment I am willing to make, unlike makeup, they last a really long time in your collection and I feel like the make a really big difference whether you're working with really great quality products or lesser quality versions, they can seriously upgrade your look. I decided to try out a pretty high end eyelash curler since I was in need of a new one, I have used my trusty MAC eyelash curler for years, replacing it when needed and I was in the mood to see if there were bigger and badder things out there.

This Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler is an award winning, and very hyped up product. I purchased mine at Sephora for about 25 dollars Canadian. It is supposed to be a non pinching, steel frame, that gives the perfect amount of pressure to the lashes. The first thing I noticed about this curler is that it didn't let me pinch my lashes quite as much as my MAC one, it kind of stops you from being able to press the handles together at a certain point. I like being able to control my own pressure and I find myself sometimes getting frustrated that I can't press it down harder. I like the fit on the eye, it curves around the lashes to get a nice curl from the base all the way around my lash line. It also comes with one extra pad which is really nice because they can be hard to replace! It does give a really nice curl to the lashes, and it really prevents any kinks you can get in your lashes from pressing too hard which I suppose is what they mean by "perfect pressure" on the lashes. It creates a really beautiful natural curl.

Hope you enjoyed this quick little review, I will be back with some more fun makeup stuff later this week!

  1. This is my all-time favorite eyelash curler. I have used the Shiseido one for the longest time but switched to this and much prefer this one. Keep my curls up and doesn't grab the lashes as tight as the Shiseido one and less lashes are "yanked" out.

  2. I've heard amazing things about these eyelash curlers! I dont really tend to use them as i have naturally long lashes but these sound lovely!
